Just about to start in 2026 and i think there must a ton of products that you design and sell in the US but we dont have over here in the UK which is why i love looking at the USA 3d printing world. Any more tips and designs please
I've been enjoying your videos for the past couple of weeks, as I begin to come up with a range of 3D printed artwork, and products. I've found a real joy in designing and creating original multicoloured prints. It does add alot print time whilst changing filaments, but with some clever design work I think I've managed to balance print time and final design so that it's worth it. Thanks for sharing your journey.
i use autodesk inventor to design parts its a paid software but its free for me throug my school
Why is almost every, single, 3d printing video about how you can get rich quick and start a 3d printing business? And the ones that aren't about getting rich quick and starting a business… are about how the business isn't doing well and selling patterns you downloaded on some website that someone else designed aren't making money because market is flooded with others doing same thing!?!?
The problem with 3d lenders being so accessible now is that everyone is getting into the 3d printing business. My area there are like 6 people on fb market place offering 3d printing.
Instructions unclear, quit my job to go out and work at the supermarket, clean driveways, and mowed lawns. I was told we’d talk about it later but I’m still mowing lawns.
I wouldn't recommend the "gateway drug" A1 mini in a video geared towards entrepreneurs – almost every business would be better served with a standard size (or bigger) build plate.
It's a great recommendation for anyone thinking about picking it up as a hobby though. It's so inexpensive and it's small size lends itself well to being invited into a space for the first time; a dresser, an end table, a desk – no need to buy a dedicated stand or find the space for it, it just fits.
Inventor, Fusion, Solidworks – those are the ones you have to pay for. If you aare a student you can easily get a free version, but if you´re not, then get FreeCAD. Has a ton of options and can even do FEM Simulations. You can also add different addons and its open source 🙂
I live in Alaska and it's pitch black with no sunlight. So, I guess I will wait until I get sunlight again.
Great video! Hey, based on that book you mentioned how do I start a trucking company with $100?
Looked at your soda caddy. Incorporate locking tabs on the side you can slide them/lock them together and then it would be a tray to organize them. Justa a thought.
I just got a 3d printer for my buddy’s shop I’m just making stuff for my audio brand and whatever his customers and wanna scale to other machines laser co2,plasma table, wood cnc not just 3d printing just be a good start
About to buy a P2S. Hoping to build custom raspberry pi/arduino mini servers with printed enclosures. We’ll see what happens.
use Fusion360 (AutoCAD) – Free with a registration and 10 Projects. (Save your Exports and delete it in the Program) Only downside its not native for MacOS and requires online connection. BUT you can save projects OFFLINE.
It's THE Goat and industry standard for 3D Modeling!
Less than $500 and he is a 1 printer that cost more than $500.
Just picked up a Creality k2. The first couple prints were trial and error. I almost gave up but after a few youtube videos and successfully printing. There is a learning curve but fun.
Fusion 360 is what I use
My main concern is 3D printing is an evolving technology. I feel like I will always be playing catch up with newer tech and better methods that will make my products seem outdated. Fewer layer lines , Faster printers, New materials etc. Seems like everyday I read about a newer faster, better machine. Also seems like a saturated market. I know individual creativity helps with that but people selling cheap and low quality prints have created a stigma against 3d printed goods in general
I'm a big fan of Chris Skibo as well! Just got my first 3D printer, and having a blast. I'm considering starting a biz with it which led me to this video. Thanks for all the insights! 👍🏾
The hardest thing is designing a product
I purchased my first 3D printer recently, Creality Halot R6, i am a character artist for games and now i plan to print what i made digitally and sell it, it may or may not work but lets see, this was helpful!

Cool video. I came here to comment on the plumbing in the background. Who did that?!
I use both Fusion 360 and Solidworks, both are parametric CAD. Fusion is free for startups and hobbyists with limitations and it is relatively easy to learn. A lot of YouTube knowledge out there for both of the options I listed
OODB I’m very interested in this and I have multiple designs the only thing is they all are used to enhance an existing product(s) made by other companies. Idk if I’m even allowed to sell them because of that. Do I contact the company to get permission?
I just picked up a Bambu Lab P1S with Ams. I'm slightly overwhelmed but I'm hoping to get a grasp of everything specially designing some products that I have thought of I'm hoping that I can make an income from it eventually so if you have any advice for me I'd appreciate it
I bought my 3d printer more for hobby work, but if I do manage to make a product I can sell, I might first start to test it by attending to markets due to my already occupying job that makes me leave home for 14 days per month. So running a shop online wont be that beneficial for me as I wont be able to ship out or produce while away.
Fusion 360 for personal use
At 64 years of age, I have just purchased my first 3D printer, the Bambu Labs P1S with AMS. I'm not looking to start a new business, but love the hobby. I have in the month I've had it already printed wonderful objects to organize my work spaces, including my wood shop, and I've even designed a couple of things using Tinkercad. A small holder for a 4 port USB charging hub, and a replacement handle for an Ikea recycle bin I broke years ago. Ive also printed upgrades for the unit, all out of PLA, but have my first set of PETG spools on order. Every time I have a problem to solve, I look into how I might print the solution, at great cost and time savings. The future of repairs and general solutions is right here in our 3D printers. Just a step away from the Star Trek replicator!
Thank you Sir !!!
Thanks so much for sharing the valuable insight on 3D Printers and products!
