I use my local library as much as I can, not only for books but also magazines and audiobooks. They also organize interesting events 😊
I wish I had learned this 20 yrs ago😂 I was a victim of buying too many branded shoes bags skin care all collecting dust now.
You look like Kenya's twin journalist sisters Jamila mbugua and Wanjiru Mbugua. You can check them out😅
Clothes
I love to read and the way I've saved money is by getting kindle unlimited for $11.99 a month. I read every day and read anywhere from 4 to 6 books a month. I value the savings and I know it's money well spent. ❤📖
My go-to meal when I am tired is lunchmeat, cheese and crackers. Such a budget meal
I've been there, done that – guilty as charged! However, I've recently made a conscious effort to prioritize my well-being. Nowadays, I'm all about balance – working, walking, and getting enough sleep. Online shopping can be a slippery slope, but I'm committed to breaking the cycle and focusing on debt repayment.
This is real
On the book front. I have a Kindle. It was a great, purposeful investment for me. It clears the physical clutter of books and before I decide to actually purchase a full book, it enables me to read a sample before I fully commit to whether I'm going to enjoy the book or not. It has saved me immensely ❤
Oh sis, the moment you said “10 Things To Stop Buying,” my whole brain went “Good grief,” because every time I try to cut spending, I somehow end up in the grocery store arguing with myself over a $7 artisanal yogurt like, “Marquis… seriously… does this taste like financial freedom or just fermented regret?” And then another voice goes, “Well… maybe it’s both.” Classic. And honestly, it reminds me of the month I tried to be ultra‑disciplined and stopped buying coffee out—only to catch myself at 6 a.m. brewing something so bitter it tasted like my student‑loan trauma, standing there whispering “Yikes” as if the mug could hear me. But here’s the deep part: that whole fiasco taught me that half our budget killers aren’t even big purchases—they’re tiny little gremlins nibbling at your paycheck while smiling innocently. So if your video helps folks avoid the “oh my word, how did I spend $112 on snacks and vibes” moment, then thank heavens, because some of us are one impulse buy away from eating crackers for dinner and calling it “minimalism.”
Ohhh the purses !!!!🤦♀️
And Yeti yeti yeti tumblers etc etc
Hair salon $200 plus every 4 weeks
Stop buying clothes, eating out, apple subscriptions
I have done a lot of repetitive buying items and feel bad about it.
I use a spreadsheet for budgeting, a portion of my income goes into my charity and i save so much, my investments are working well. Its positive to be financially comfortable. Its taken hardwork to get there. I read everyday as an avid bookworm. kindle is good.
Batch cook, freeze and warm up a treat. save your money. works for me. Take out is a treat sometimes for when family visit. nice.
From 2026, I’ve stopped buying cosmetics, fragrances, and body butters.
This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
I will stop buying clothes and shoes
I prep dinner in the morning before work and my husband puts it in the oven. Prevents eating out because I’m exhausted.
I no longer have toes!!😂 Cuz Bola stepped on all of them. My fantasy life needed a reality check..oooh. And duplicate products and skincare? Guilty! Books I ain't reading? Guilty! Ima do better!!!❤
Great information 😊. Definitely going to put it to use. The book one got me.. thank you…❤
Stop buying hair appliances and workout clothes. Stop buying jewelry and shoes for my fantasy life but I color my own hair and I dont spend money on false eyelashes or false nails or hair pieces.
I would have to be retired (which I'm not) in order to have time to cook. Smh. My husband passed away in 2016 so I live alone. I barely have time to clean up house. 😂
I didnt know lipstick expired. I have lipsticks and nail polishes that are over 25 years old. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I love thrifting
Dankie… 😊
How can i get your book?
I now buy clothes that I can dress up and down. I have 3 handbags in black, brown and orange. Then one black cross body. 2 perfumes, one body moisturizer and 1 face moisturizer. I'm decluttering my closet. I want to have a small wardrobe with clothes that I wear more
Very spot on! ❤
Don't buy anything 😂😂
I agree with No 1 but I need you to buy my clothes
Not buying for a fantasy life, was so good. I never thought about that. Now I'll be asking myself, is this for my life or a fantasy life?
Just did the sa.e 👠 in the garbage plus more
I feel seen😂
Kanopy is another app through library movies documentaries etc. from all over the world. I think hoopla has magazines and new music
Your tips are realistic for everyday people — that’s why this video hits different.”
Clothes, shoes, accessories 🙏🏾
Get a library card at your local library. If a book that you want to read is not available, you can suggest to add it to the library collection. Have a child? Take them to the library to get a book or let them attend a free class or presentation. Retired or out of work? Use library databases for self-education.
You know me so well, I think I did everything you spoke about.
Using products I already have and not buying more because it's on sale and I can stock up is not working for me. Yes, there's a deal, but I have enough. I'm working on decluttering my home (a significant task), and I feel stressed with the stockpile I have. It feels like more clutter and $ wasted.😣. It's really an effort to not buy (scarcity mindset). But, I'm getting better at it.
Fantasy life. That’s such a clever description. I am guilty. I buy it but I’m not going. 🤔 oh my goodness.
I need to and will fix lunch at home more often.
