Trump wants more white babies born to boost the numbers. A typical, unsurprising white supremacist move. I mean, call it what it is.
The problem is the economy is so bad and it costs so much just to get by for many people that it'll create further financial strain for anyone who thinks pumping out a baby for $5000 (taxed) is a good idea.
Also, there has to be a consideration taken for the sheer number of drug-addicted, low moral character people who will make a baby just to wait nine months for a $5000 pay-out and end up with a baby they have no intention of caring for properly. It'll just be a lot of children born into impoverished situations, many of which who will take after their no-good parents and repeat the cycle.
Smart people will weigh their options when considering reproduction. They'll consider their financial status, job stability, and not just working to scrape by. This is why most "successful" people that aren't super-rich only one or two children—because they desire to procreate, have the means to do it, and won't be financially buried.
I'm curious to see just how badly a "baby-making incentive pay" system will fail. Because it will fail. Just another modern American social experiment.

We aren't having kids because it's expensive and they are cutting a lot of the program for children. How about affordable child care and better school programs

It costs more than $5,000 to have a kid , that wouldn't even cover the hospital cost , they are desperate, white birth rates are down , 20 – 30 years they will be out numbered

1) end abortion: dead babies don't replace the population 😢
2) adopt "unwanted" kids. Kinda solves IVF too 😅
3) make it cheaper for people to raise kids: childcare and rent etc. is SUPER expensive, makes folks rethink having children 😅
4) promote stable two gender families: that's how babies are made anyway 😂

It should be $10K but only to married couples. Stay at home, mothers should be glorified, not criticized, and 1 more thing it should be hip to have a family and stay married.

Pay for communication classes, parenting classes, anger management, help the breadwinner of the family, make it popular to stay married.

Listen, I may become an "older" mother but I am healthy and able and nobody is going to tell me I'm unfit bc life didn't come together until is was in my mid 30s..Im not a vaccine freak and plenty of healthy women have healthy babies as older moms. Associating the need for money in order to have kids is symbolic of humanity dying. This money/wealth focused system is a relatively new concept and as it's popularity grows in westernized nations birthrate has declined. How can you ignore the fact that birthrate is high in countries where family is important? You also disregarded how in countries where money is important the birthrate is low? But let's make oxymoronic statements to skirt around the real issue and feed into Elon Musk's delusional take. The type of kids Elon is birthing are going to be feed into the therapy system to deal with resentment for their parents. Also, population was much lower than what it is now when the USA was booming with industrial growth; but, because family was more important then the birth rate was high. If we could survive and thrive with a low population in the 50's and 60's we can in the future. But, if population ever was an issue the simple solution would be population redistribution or migration incentives. Why pay baby bonus without knowing if the baby is going to be located or interested in an area that has value?

I’m a woman and I’m a mom. This is so tone deaf. $5k doesn’t even my cover my funeral if I pass away in labor or in PP. why have more children for everyone else to raise? Some of us moms like being mothers, but I wouldn’t want to put my kid in daycare like what a lot of moms have to do today. I got lucky with mine everyone doesn’t have my village.

Our government and media have been promoting negativity, lies, and immortality for a long time. They used to promote positivity, truth, and morality. Changes in culture used to happen over a long period. Now it happens much more quickly.
First simple fix: reverse the laws that allow opinion to be mixed with news. That would prevent media from lying as much.
Next shoring up election integrity so the liars cannot steal elections outright.
I think the majority of Americans are moral and vote accordingly, but the influences and and election shenanigans have allowed the liars to take power. Trump seems better. But there are also vaccine promotion and hate speech laws he is on board with. Very questionable.
Exorbitant student loan debt is what’s keeping my daughter and her husband from considering children. We tell our children the only way to make it is to get an education and then price them out of procreation.
