Love the advice! Thank you…I remember learning that most people spend more than what they should. It's a good reminder to watch out and not over-spend your income!

Thank you for recommending Alison Frances willig in one of your videos. I started with just $9,500 a few months ago and now I'm over $21,000. Nothing spectacular, just steady ups and downs and clear signs. Honestly, I was tired of watching others win while I was stuck. This was the change I needed.

i wish i learned this stuff earlier in my 20s — would’ve saved me a ton of stress and bad spending habits. i’ve been using an ai budgeting app called budgetgpt lately and it’s made tracking my money way easier. takes like 5 minutes to set up and now i actually know where my cash is going.

I grew up in a family that was struggling financially. Once I got a job and salary, I started shopping and buying everything that I couldn’t when I was younger. It makes me feel good and I don’t really regret it. But I still want to save because I over-shop a lot and these videos are very helpful

I started working a new job and my first two paychecks went by so fast. I decided I need to start saving more seriously now that I'm 23. Prior to watching this I did start tracking on Google sheets and I was thinking about doing the envelope system like my mom suggested. I do need those stricter systems to shock me because I love to indulge T_T
Great video and great ideas I'll take with me!! Thank you

If you're watching this in 2023, CD rates are great right now if you have money to put away for a year or more it will just grow at a guaranteed interest rate and then you get it back after the time you committed to. With Certificates of Deposit you can earn safely and protect your money from some inflation without putting it in an IRA until your in your 60's. I'm 21 and I've never liked that my friends do super risky investing, but I love budgeting and playing the long game. I just put 2000 into a 15 month at 5% APY return per year, and another 1800 into a 3 year at 4% return APY because I just want to let it sit and grow and not have to deal with it at all, but in a year I'll have my 2000 and more back so its not going away until I retire. You deserve the best girlies, don't let your money sit around losing value over time.

I think these tips are good but for someone who at least gets minimum wage. I earn like 20% less than minimum wage so applying this is difficult to me. If I did the 50-30-20 method I wouldn't be able to get language lessons or invest in my music career without setting aside my social life. I'll be glad to apply them once I get more monthly incomes tho

As someone in their 20s, I feel like what has been easiest for me when it comes to a budget is asking for help over time (adding a new expense to your "What I'm Responsible to Pay For" list each in each step of financial development, but not being disappointed in yourself when you still need help from your family) and making your emergency fund and budget after the first month of a new job (and readjusting the budget to the lowest monthly/ weekly/ biweekly average wage).

My heart truly goes out to the young people of today…..I know it is difficult in this inflation period. Do your best….make do and ask others for advice whenever possible. Use the library….a gold mine for books movies and music. Tag sales! I live like a Queen and rarely buy retail. Cut up credit cards!! Those are legalized loan sharking.
