Went to BCT at Fort Jackson during the Summer of 1993. Hot as hell. Fire ants everywhere. Delta Dogs in the Hollywood Barracks. Back then they had a soda machine near the drill instructors offices/the quad? It was the area where you lined up in formation every day. Anyways, on the weekends when the DIs weren't around or while on night guard duty I would sneak down and buy five at a time for .50 cents a piece and sell them for $5 a piece. One time our machine wasn't working and I snuck around the corner to another company's and got stopped by the CSM. I about shit my bricks, but somehow got away with it and quickly got back. Fun times. Also, for all those that didn't got to church on Sundays they would call our floor "the casino". Guys would play cards and also a game called "quarters" where whomever slid his quarter closest to the wall won all the quarters.
Hey PWill. Do you get a phone call while at reception? Or only when you get to boot camp? My Son left today for reception. Thanks for all the BA videos
Funny story when I went to SC – my son was telling me his battle buddy was taking more than one peanut butter thing and the ds made him stand by the peanut butter and when someone reached for one, he had to "YELL" JUST ONE!!!! JUST ONE!!! lol – i thought that was funny af..
