I’ve tried every strategy out there. Read books, bought courses, sat through webinars, still getting smoked by this market. I’m not even looking to get rich quick, I just want to stop losing. Is there actually someone out there who teaches in real time, not just talks about “what they would’ve done?

Good risk mitigation but imo stock picking for a beginner out performs this especially when you have time on your side one good stock could drive your portfolio for years . I do recommend always having a large share of it being something that mimics the s&p because it diversify s enough. And you could strategically use those funds to take sell take advantage of value to double compound your money . (Making money off of gains) I like to buy value dividends in these scenarios because you triple compound . Make miner of appreciation of the initial etf, then money on the new purchased stock appreciation and that stocks dividends. We then always replenish the etf …. At the right moment and keep it at or near a good percentage of your entire portfolio value. Risk tolerance is always a huge factor but if your wrong but have a a long timeline you could make it back , it’s mainly psychological, but there’s another side I don’t see many people talk about . The antithesis to the psychological component . I would argue conviction is even more important because it mitigates the psychological component. Learning who to stock pick is the fastet way to get grow imo. Obviously learning how to stock pick is itself an entirely different process and requires multiple discussions and or videos but this is the most valuable thing . Even a beginner could be a great stock picker just by studying certain principles and understanding certain terms , simple calculations, and defining set goals .

what do you say to those that think that U.S. Stocks/Indicies are in fact International stocks at the same time as these bigger companies, especially those withing the S&P 500 etc., operate internationally? They have been planning to operate internationally for years now and are successfully selling their products on the global markets…

My portfolio for the past 30 years has always been self managed and I own 3 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock (BRK:A) which I bought in at about $17,000 during the mid 90s, I'm currently liquidating some of these positions to incoporate new Gen. Stocks, but am I better off re-investing into Gold as it seems stocks are a little too unstable right now.

Honestly, with everything going on in 2025—the slowdown, rate cuts, and all this talk of a "soft landing"—I’m thinking simple might be better. Chasing complex strategies feels like gambling right now.

In both the short and long run, a bear and bullish market provides equal avenue to amass good gains I've seen people make 6figures profit as high as $200k in a bear market and I've seen them pull it off much easily in a bull market, it all comes down to having the right information and applying it.

The most popular investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.
